TetherNet is an outdoor communications messaging network, 100% designed to keep you connected.
TetherNet handset devices, called Tethers, do not rely on mobile networks or coverage, and can communicate directly with one another.
TetherNet is the first network designed for outdoor users, without the need for mobile coverage or ongoing subscriptions.
TetherNet helps in emergencies, providing geolocation and the ability to communicate directly with rescuers.
TetherNet helps users stay connected, feel safer and be more confident in outdoor spaces.
Reclaim your communications
TetherNet is a low-cost, network-independent communications system being developed for places where conventional mobile network coverage is poor and for when mobile networks fail.
Tethers mesh and communicate directly with one another, without a mobile phone, mobile networks or ongoing subscriptions.
TetherNet is designed from the ground up to support greater confidence in remote environments, making for smarter decisions during emergencies and a better experience outdoors.
TetherNet allows the reception of Emergency Broadcasts, sending of an SOS and location-beaconing for emergency geolocation by ground or by air.
Applications include hiking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, 4WDing, caving - the sky is the limit!
We’re focusing on user safety, including the barriers that can make women feel less safe hiking alone.

Our story so far...
The world's outdoor spaces. Your health and well-being. Accessibility and affordability. Your safety. Agency over our basic communications. We care about all of these.
Over recent years, we have increasingly witnessed the failure of modern mobile networks and social media to provide the basic communications that people want and need to stay connected in the outdoors, especially in times of emergency.
That's why we decided to develop a communications solution specifically for users of outdoor spaces and places.
These values drive how we are developing TetherNet to make sure the product fits you, the user.
We're working hard to bring TetherNet to you. Sign up below for development updates and launch announcements.
